From Start to Finish, AYCE Keep the Energy Alive

AYCE’s All You Can Eat is the kind of debut that feels immediate and unfiltered, like a band eager to be heard and not overthinking the process. “Hardball” sets the tone with a punchy, straight-ahead rock approach, while “Sound Off” leans into a more chant-ready energy that’s easy to latch onto. By the time “Go” rolls in, the EP has already built a steady momentum, delivering tight hooks without drifting into anything overproduced.

One of the strengths of the record is how each member’s role comes through without competing for space. Jessica Heming’s keyboard work adds texture rather than flash, giving tracks like “Turn It Around” a bit more depth and atmosphere. Ramsey Ord keeps things grounded with solid, consistent drumming that lets the songs breathe. “Feel Good” offers a slight shift in tone, bringing a more relaxed and upbeat vibe while still fitting naturally within the overall flow.

There’s a sense that these songs come from a real place, particularly in the closing track “Broken Past.” It strips things back just enough to highlight Sara Bunge’s vocal delivery, which carries a bit more weight here. The emotion doesn’t feel forced—it’s understated, but it lands, giving the EP a thoughtful finish rather than just ending on another high-energy note.

As a first release, All You Can Eat shows a band that already understands its strengths. The songwriting is focused, the performances feel authentic, and there’s a clear identity taking shape. It’s a promising introduction that suggests AYCE has plenty more to offer as they continue to develop their sound.
