Fencah Teams Up with Rhayn for Tender Folk/Indie-Pop Single “Daydream”

Austrian multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Fencah has released his latest track “Daydream”, a heartfelt collaboration with fellow Austrian artist Rhayn. The song unfolds as a gentle Folk/Indie-Pop ballad that captures the fragile balance between supporting a loved one through hardship and encouraging them to discover their inner strength. With its dreamy melodies and evocative lyrics, “Daydream” offers listeners a warm and reflective experience, setting the stage for Fencah’s upcoming album.

Best known until now as a drummer with acclaimed Austrian bands such as Kitty in a Casket, ELSA, and Greyshadow, Fencah—real name Max Zauner—is stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist. The transition marks a deeply personal chapter for the 30-year-old musician, who began writing his own material during the pandemic. Shaken by a family loss, he turned to songwriting as a means of processing grief and exploring themes of love, uncertainty, and growth. The result is a body of work that sits at the crossroads of Bedroom Pop, Indie, and Folk.

Fencah’s music is distinguished by the use of his customised baritone ukulele, which serves as his primary songwriting tool. He also draws on a strong network of collaborators built over years in the Austrian music scene. Musicians such as Georg Buxhofer (Norbert Schneider Band), Caroline Loibersbeck (Frau Thomas & Herr Martin), and David Mandlburger (Baba Yaga) have contributed to shaping the heartfelt textures of his songs. Together, they create a sound that feels both intimate and expansive.

Recorded and mixed in his own studio in Lower Austria, “Daydream” reflects Fencah’s hands-on approach to production. The single is an early glimpse into his forthcoming album, “Small Room, Full Heart,” which is expected near the end of 2025. With its tender storytelling and evocative sound, “Daydream” signals a promising new chapter in Fencah’s musical journey.
